Norman Moore was educated in Kilkenny College. Moore moved to Athy, Co. Kildare in 1979 where he worked in the wool-and-thread industry and with stained glass until the 1980's when he moved towards painting using the mediums of oils and acrylics.
Moore's studio is based in Athy. The largely self-taught artist held a very successful solo exhibition titled ''Framed'' in July 2013, in the Athy Arts Council.
